Spring Cleaning ... goes designer bag

The sun is shining like it is supposed to in June...finally. However, the sunshine works on those genes inherent to each strain of female DNA : time for some serious maintenance.  Let's see, since most of us don't actually enjoy waxing stairs with beeswax or re-organizing our kitchen cupboards, we start with the most important item on our list: taking care of our leather babies Louis, Hermès and their brothers and sisters.

Then it suddenly hits me: how do we get to work? Although we like to humanize our arm candy for a teensy bit, they are made of very lovely but often special maintenance fabrics. So, I do what any other woman would do in times of significant doubt and/or ignorance - I turn to Google.

Several hours of reading later, you find yourself bombarded with cleaning techniques of which some are highly doubtful - yet, you want to get on with beautifying your precious handbag.

Eventually, you are sitting in your living room with tons of cloths, dry and damp ones to be precise, soapy water, several leather creams and your leathery object of affection when your man walks in with creepily lifted eyebrows. After explaining you have not gone crazy, you might witness a great thing like I did. Mr. Man convinces you of a superb idea: why not clean your bag with his Bag Cleaner foam spray?

Come again? Yup, you got it: the Bag Cleaner from Mr. Man's hunting gear. Worth a shot, I thought. 

My LV Ellipse PM had some scratches on its handle and "body" and was therefore the perfect object for a test case. I must admit that I was quite impressed: a little rub with a microfibre cloth after spraying on the product removed all scratches and minor stains on the leather. Need proof?

Bye bye scratches!

A picture says more than a thousand words. It is no different in this case: Mr. Man was right...
